It's Time!

While at a playgroup this morning I started to not feel very well and decided to give my doctor a call. I was having some trouble with my vision so they decided that I should come into the office to get checked out. After arriving they determined that it was time to get things going. I am starting to progress but they believe it will be later tonight or tomorrow before we are able to meet our beautiful boy. Our family is rushing to be here and will be arriving tonight and tomorrow.

Please pray for our family tonight and ask God to lay his hands on us and bless us with His courage and strength. Also please pray for safe travel for all of our family and friends who are coming to be with us. I will post updates as often as I can. Thank you as always for all of your love and support.

Sweet Kenzie,
Just got home from KY. I am praying for you and Maddox and for you family's arrival non stop. I wish I could have talked to you before you went today, but I was planning on having time before the 4th. Another example that this is in God's hands not ours! If I could tell you one thing right now, it would be to not take one second for granted. Mary Grace was doing so good - better than the Doctors or nurses could believe for the whole 7 hours we had with her - Chris and I both thought she was doing so good surely we would have at least one day if not DAYS with her - then she left us quickly but peacefully. I was in shock. I will pray that everything that happens is guided with HIS amazing hands and that every second, minute, hour, day etc would be perfect!
I love you and Baby Maddox so much!
Love,
Kim

Dear Kenzie and family, I found your blog through Tristan's and want to let you know I'm thinking of you and praying for your precious time with Maddox. My son Joshua was born 16 days ago with a neural tube defect (an encephalocele) that's inoperable. He wasn't expected to live much beyond birth if he wasn't stillborn. And he's still here at 16 days, strong and healthy. I know what miracles look like - he's my living proof. Every moment is precious, every breath is more than expected. How wonderful to be birthing a miracle. Maddox and Joshua are just that... miracles, gifts, and gentle yet powerful reminders of the faithfulness of God.

Praying for you in Oklahoma. Praise the Lord that you got your sermon and that you are facing this challenge head on with God as your guide and knowing every second is a blessing and your hurts will never be wasted by a God who loves you so much! Praying for a smooth delivery and that this baby will be more than you ever imagined. Knowing what to expect and worrying about tomorrow are two different things. The Bible tells us not to worry about tomorrow for tomorrow has enough worries of it's own. Enjoy EVERY moment! God bless!

We picked up on your blog from Nate and Tricia Lawrenson's, and wanted you to know that we are thinking of you and praying for you all as you meet your precious boy. We too chose to take a pregnancy to term, despite a lethal diagnosis, and were blessed with a wonderful 15 minutes with our precious first son, Will. We are praying that you may have the same sense of peace that we did.
Sending you our love, from Cardiff, UK,

I followed a link to your blog last night, and am so inspired by your grace and strength. I also took the time to follow your links to other families who have had children born with trisomy 18...I cried for half the night thinking how brave you all are, and spent the other half looking at my sleeping children and thinking how blessed we are. I have come to realize, by reading these beautiful blogs, that any of us who have the ability to give birth to a child, no longer how long we have with them, is a miracle. My families thoughts are with you as you give birth and hold your beautiful son for the first time.

I remember the feelings when we were about to deliver our special little girl. She had a 5% chance of survival. She shocked everyone with her strength and we shocked ourselves with ours. She is 16 months old now and I cannot imagine life without her. She definitely has a rough road ahead, but she is happy and so are we. I am honored that God entrusted her to us. I can already tell that you feel the same way about your little boy.

I hope and pray that he has a safe delivery and that everything will be okay for your family.

Many blessings sent your way,
